Ward Chowen Commercial was originally founded around 1830 by Daniel Ward and traded as Ward and Chowen for over 185 years before becoming Ward Chowen Commercial in 2017.

Originally established as land agents the company became the area's firststate agent, acting  for many of the owners of the area's largest landed estates when they were sold in the early part of the 20th Century.
